Dai Lanh beach

Dai Lanh is a nice beach in Van Ninh village, Khanh Hoa province. Located right in the national highway no 1A, this landscape is famous since 19th century for being one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. The beach is beautiful with long sand bank, pure blue water to see the bottom and the gentle glide to let people go far away from the shore, as well as the long poplar tree forest. In 1836, King Minh Mang had this landscape picture carved in one of the nine bronze thuribles, which are used to decorate in front of the The Mieu yard in Hue. In 1853, under the Tu Duc King dynasty, Dai Lanh was officially listed in the national dictionary, which was compiled by the court. Located in the border of Phu Yen province and Khanh Hoa province, this landscape is about 80km from Nha Trang city, and 30km from Tuy Hoa Township. This is the easternmost point in the mainland, which welcome the first dawn light in Vietnam. Starting from Tuy Hoa township, crossing Ca Pass in 12km tortuous road, you wil see he wide beach appear with blue water and crowded ship crossing. Dai Lanh beach is in the mountain base. There is a fresh water spring flows along the mountain and pour down to the sea. Sea and mountain are integrated, Dai Lanh is a branch of Truong Son Range, which heads to the sea, which was discovered by a French man named Varrella, and therefore, this mountain was called Cap Varrella.

From Dai Lanh, visitors would have plenty of way to visit the other nearby landscapes like Vung Ro, or Khai Luong village, Dam Mon langoon, etc. Then, people would visit the torch built by the French since 1980 including five meter building and the area of 320 sq m. The torch light is a cylinder long tapered point of 26.5 m high, which is capable in stretching the light for 27 sea miles away. The inner part of the torch tower is the wooden staircase with 110 steps of shining wooden. Until 1997, the torch was restored.

One of the delights for visitors of Dai Lanh is following the torch guard or fishermen to hunt for eel in the sea. This fish is compared with the serpent like monster of the ocean. Eel often stays in the tough area with the whirling water flow and in the deep dark rocky hole. There are three types of eel, which are coconut eel (yellow color), black eel, flower eel (dotted black and white). This activity is very hard but this is a chance for the adventure lover to test their ability and discover the sea.
