Pagoda Linh Son

It is now located in the Hoang Hoa Tham street, Ward 2, moved in since 1959 by Superior Buddhist Monk Thich Tinh Vien. Not many people know that this pagoda was located in a small mountain. In 1919, French people took that area to build a torch, so village people moved the pagoda down to mountain base and in the opposite area to the current one. The pagoda is famous for worshipping an ancient sandstone statue of Sakyamuni made in 7th century with other 12 statues in the main palace. This is one of the two ancient and precious statues protected in Vung Tau city. Legendarily, this statue was discovered along with a smaller statue by people in Central region while they collected the wood sticks in the Lon Mountain. The smaller statue was brought to Quang Ngai province but it is not sure about its.
